But I am suggesting that we need to rethink our approach to green energy, to prioritize local, community-driven projects over large-scale industrial ones. We need to invest in energy efficiency, in reducing demand rather than just switching to cleaner sources. And we need to acknowledge the environmental and social costs of our pursuit of clean power, rather than glossing over them with feel-good PR campaigns.
The truth is, there’s no magic bullet for our climate crisis. But by acknowledging the complexities and challenges of green energy, we might just be able to create a more sustainable, equitable future – one that doesn’t rely on false promises or short-term fixes.
