So, what’s the way forward? It’s time to rethink our approach to sustainability. Instead of focusing on individual actions, we need to challenge the very foundations of our economic systems. We need to prioritize degrowth, relocalization, and circular economies that put people and the planet above profits. We need to hold corporations accountable for their environmental impact and demand more transparency in their supply chains.
In short, sustainable development is a myth that’s holding us back from tackling the real issues. It’s time to stop pretending that we can have our cake and eat it too, and instead, focus on creating a more just, equitable, and regenerative world for all. The future of our planet depends on it.
