Next-gen biofuels are a new generation of sustainable fuels that are being developed to replace traditional fossil fuels in various sectors, including transportation, aviation, and even power generation. Another challenge is policy – governments will need to create supportive policies and regulations to encourage the development and deployment of next-gen biofuels.

Despite these challenges, the future of next-gen biofuels looks bright. Companies such as Red Rock Biofuels, LanzaTech, and Novozymes are already working on commercial-scale projects, and governments around the world are starting to take notice. In 2020, the European Union announced plans to increase its use of biofuels to 14% of its total fuel mix by 2030, a significant step towards a more sustainable transportation sector.

As the world continues to grapple with the challenges of climate change, next-gen biofuels offer a beacon of hope. They have the potential to transform the industry, reduce our carbon footprint, and create new economic opportunities. It’s an exciting time for the future of fuel, and one that we should all be watching with great interest.
